The blue colonial adobe near the plaza of San Ignacio was built by French pioneers Matilde Duclós and Plácido Lereé. Their daughter Chala welcomed guests and the house became San Ignacio's first guest house or casa de huéspedes. Today Casa Lereé continues to provide a welcome haven.
 The house offers 3 accommodations:
La Hermosa: The bedroom of the adobe has a queen-sized bed and a long cot; an adjacent small bedroom with double futon bed; a private bath with shower; and use of the kitchen in the house. $65 for 2 persons.
Piso Rojo: A small room with a double bed, toilet and sink. French doors open at the foot of the bed into the garden under old bougainvilleas. $35 for 2 persons.*
La Cocinita: A bedroom with a double bed and an adjoining room, with a long cot and small kitchen appliances, which opens onto the garden. $35 for 2 persons.*
*The two garden rooms share a bath with shower, opening on the garden.
The barn next to the home is now the living room for guests. The large walled garden offers several private seating areas. Parking is within the gates. A small stream runs through the garden. This acequia was the old irrigation channel of the mission. Chickens run loose in the garden. Dogs are welcome. $5 for each additional person. No TV, no A/C. Payment may be made in U.S. dollars, pesos, travelers' checks or personal checks on U.S. or Mexican banks. Please know that San Ignacio has no bank or ATM and travelers' are often inconvenienced by lack of cash.
The bookstore, gallery of the work of local artisans and exhibit of old photos of San Ignacio are open to the public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and offer the visitor a chance to learn about the area. An information map of San Ignacio and a trail map are available for visitors.
Directions: Turn left as you pass in front of the mission church and left again at the back of the plaza. You will see Casa Lereé on your right half a block from the plaza. The house is long and bright blue. Enter through the bookstore door, or around the corner through the small door into the garden. Call '¡Hola Juanita!'
